Our client Hostway is one of the world's leading web hosting companies. With such a commoditized product and so many competitors, Hostway sought to break through and introduce themselves to web designers, IT professionals and anyone who might be interested in choosing a hosting plan. They know that a significant number of their sales come through direct referrals from web designers so Hostway wanted to connect with them in a way they would find inspiring and humorous. There was no budget to promote this in any way except through word of mouth, so the user experience had to be exceptional enough to compel people to forward it to their friends.
In 1.5 months, Bob's Cube had over 550,000 unique visits with no advertising dollars spent to drive traffic to the site. The average site visit time is 270 seconds, and even though it was designed simply to create brand awareness, it has sold over 250 web hosting plans and has been one of Hostway's most successful emarketing campaigns.
