The Scribbler

For the Bob's Cube website, we wanted users to be able to draw on the notepad that was left on Bob's desk, just like we do in our office, so we created Scribble, a flash-based drawing application that allowed users to either submit their own masterpiece, or deface someone else's masterpiece. We built an approval tool that was checked once a day to avoid publishing objectionable content. While the application allowed users to create fun and some REALLY funny illustrations, we underestimated the fondness a group of users (you know who you are!) would have for drawing penises. All and all, our client thought this was a great success and no penises got published. On the flip side, we now have one of the largest databases of penis drawings...so we got that going for us...which is something.
